Who we are
Mitra is an association based in Switzerland dedicated for bringing communities together and supporting projects in Sri Lanka.
We are a group of friends with a connection to Sri Lanka. United by our culture and a desire to give back, we have come together to make a meaningful impact on both the Swiss and Sri Lankan communities.
What we offer
We want you to experience the beauty of Sri Lankan culture through our engaging events designed to reach a large number of participants.
We aim to provide humanitarian support to Sri Lanka, focusing on health, education, arts and culture, with the proceeds of our cultural events in Switzerland.
We are committed to bringing our cultural knowledge to diverse audiences and building appreciation by partnering with local organisations.

Help children affected by cancer in Sri Lanka.
We are pleased to take an active part in the organisation of the “Dawask Da” concert on 20 April 2024 in Grand-Saconnex in the Canton of Geneva. Our association is dedicated to promoting cultural diversity and artistic expression, and we are glad to be working with prestigious musicians and performers to make this event a successful experience.
With the funds from the “Dawasak da” concert, we would like to help children affected by cancer in Sri Lanka.

Helping a Village by reconstructing 11 Wells
We are happy to help a village build 11 drinking water wells.
Due to flooding, 11 wells cannot be used and villagers have to walk many kilometers to get drinking water.
We have allocated funds to repair the wells so that they can reuse the wells for their drinking water.
Previous projects:
Each of our members, either personally or together, has been involved in various projects to help people in Sri Lanka over the past two decades. Our desire to support people in difficulty is one of the reasons why we have come together to form the Association Mitra. Here are some of the projects done before.
